      I am intrigued that the audiocast ignored the international move to migrate to smart cards. I understand that we wish to protect the merchant from making various investments. Maybe what should be happening is the PCI think end to end as your Gartner speaker suggested and look at the hardware and software upgrades include both the PCI activities and the introduction of the core changes required to support EMV.

      It seems that people here in the US have their hands full with PCI DSS. I've talked to an "international" friend of mine and his take was that it seems that Visa/MC is going for the low hanging fruit - meaning the US - first, since there wasn't any significant PCI activity in Asia or Europe.
